Their prices, for the most part, were always better than Kuhn's in Des Plaines, which as far as I know is the only German deli left in Chi-town. It was our go-to source for Dutch licorice, honey candies, and other delicacies like soft pretzels. Well, a small consolation is the huge $15.99 bag of double salt Dutch licorice I scored for just $2.00 in their going-out-of-business sale. It is especially soothing for colds and sore throats, which I coincidentally have right now.
Yea sad to see them go. My go to place for the meats. They were so convenient and friendly. And now Koenemann,s is gone too. What's next...
A German delicacy wonderland! stoked to have found such a gem in the suburbs... will be back very soon!
Not a restaurant German deli with many kinds of sausage, cheese, salads and German foods.
A wonderland of goodies! I felt like a little girl when my Grandma used to take me! They had just what I wanted. Yeaaaa
