Contribuiți la feedbackI used to go to Thai Street Kitchen often during my university years. The food was always top-notch, with the laksa being a standout dish. It's definitely one of the places I miss the most now that I've graduated. I highly recommend it to everyone, and more people need to know about this gem!
Upon arriving we were shown to a table upstairs, where the Thai restaurant shares space with their sister restaurant, Nosebag. It looks like a student cafe up there. Moreover, this also resulted in the waitress forgetting us for about 15 mins. Eventually we did get served and the food arrived promptly. But it wasn 't too good... I ordered their popular Massaman curry and requested it be extra spicey. That request was ignored and the curry was just bland. As we finished it became apparent they were closing the upstairs restaurant, even though it was only 9:30pm (the Thai actually closed at 10:30pm). So we felt pressured to leave. In short, bad service, cheap student cafe atmosphere, poor food... yet rather expensive.
Thought the Thai in Barrow was good, but this just pips it as the best Thai meal we've ever had! The Hot Sour soups were superb, as were all the other dishes we had.
Overall, this restaurant is excellent. The staff is lovely, the food is excellent, and it's affordable. However, the location is quite small, so I recommend making a reservation as it fills up quickly.
I really enjoy this restaurant. The food has a delicious homemade quality to it, unlike chain restaurants, and it's never greasy like some stir fries can be. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available, and the dishes feature a variety of vegetables with perfectly balanced spices.
