Contribuiți la feedbackI enjoyed my 4-course dinner and breakfast here very much. The service and the attitude were excellent. The staff was attentive and gave good recommendations.
Very good Swiss cuisine, especially breakfasts complete with excellent spreads. Dinner was also pleasant, with fresh, balanced and well refined meals.
I don't know how to start. On the one hand, the hotel is very well located, just a few minutes walk from the ski slopes. The service was impeccable and very friendly, especially Pierre in the restaurant was fantastic, really great and proactive. We were... with our parents and two children a 5 years and the other 7 months. They always gave us a special purpose and we were quickly served. On the other hand the rooms, now they have not changed the furniture for decades I suspect. Everything has a different color and there is no harmony in space. The beds are big, but very hard, for us a bit too hard. The bathroom was disappointing, there was mold everywhere near the bathtub, so it does not invite you to take a shower. For the hotel it would be a real plus to invest in renovations in the bathroom. Dinner at the restaurant was good. Overall we had a good stay at the hotel. For a 4 star superior we expected a bit more.
There were usually several courses and one was just as delicious as the other. The table was nice and the wine was reasonable.
I stayed at this hotel on the last week of February. Location: the hotel is located at one end of the village, with impressive views of the surrounding mountains. The scenery is quite spectacular and dramatic. Should you go in the summer this should also...be an amazing view. To get to the Village, besides the obvious car option, you can get the small train at Aigle, which is an enjoyable experience. When you get to the station, turn right, walk around 600 mts, and you'll see the hotel. If your purpose is skiing, you'll be located at 500 mts from the Meillerets lifts (with a connection to the Villars area . But if you are a beginner or a timid intermediate, you'll better aim for the Isenau area, on the oposite direction. The walk is not very nice, as there is some walking uphill to the main Gondola (about 10 mn walk . Alternatively, there is a free shuttle (which can get you to the base of the Glacier (more on that latter . Rooms: The rooms are very confortable and large. Spotlessely clean. Small stocked fridge. Great beds. Free internet in the rooms. Around 20 TV channels, mostly french and swiss, but also the usual BBC, CNN and Bloomberg. Staff: Very nice and always willing to help (well, the fact that so many employees share my nationality, Portuguese, probably helped Obrigado!!! : Food: I had dinner every night at the hotel. 4 course meal, with variety and imagination. On one of the nights they prepared a tropical party! It was strange to see people in flip flops and hawaian shirts, with 3ºC outside! They must have a hard time preparing for this, so...kudos!!! The breakfast was okay. I would say, if you have intentions for staying at Les Diablerets, this hotel is the right choice and a great base for one week skiing. Ski area: Les Diablerets offers a vast area to ski, because, besides the Glacier (open year round, supporting around 25 km of pistes, mainly blue , you can cross the mountain and go to the Villars area (a little more posh and expensive but with great slopes . If you go to the Villars area, and your ski level is not that great, please be prepared for some challenging reds (although, most of the reds are on the easy side, with only a few segments requiring some more effort on you ski abilities . You can go all way down to the Village (snow permiting , and then return using the train up the moutain, a very Swiss way of skiing! If you are a beginner or a timid intermediate, then go to the Isenau area, you'll have plenty of blue and easy reds to improve your abilities. The red Florietaz is really great.
