Stromness Chinese Takeaway

We decided to try this restaurant for dinner since the other dining options in Stromness were either closed or fully booked, making it our only choice. Unfortunately, we found the meat in both of our dishes to be chewy. Given the opportunity, I would not return. Additionally, it is important to note that they only accept cash as payment. While the sign specified "cash only, no cheques," there was no mention of cards. Nevertheless, they strictly adhere to a cash-only policy.

Awful! They say they are authentic, but no way. Mushroom Curry so watery. I asked locals what they thought during trip in August and just said awful.. Avoid

The standard of the food has deteriorated in the past few weeks, using an approximation of chicken and spinning out with more veg, the chicken is soft, rubbery and tasteless , i am sure it is mechanically formed chicken that is being used hence the issues. This used to be a decent takeaway place but standards have fallen, likely due to high inflation at the moment, I would rather pay more and get decent food than sub standard reformed chicken. i will give beef or pork a try next time to find out if any better

It was so bad it went in the bin. I wouldn’t use this takeaway again under any circumstances. King prawn fried rice was bland with only a trace of peas. The chicken satay was inedible. The chicken was slimy with thick skin attached; one piece was pink in the middle. The satay sauce was thin and bitter. If I’d been given this in a restaurant I would have sent it back.

We had a takeaway from here over the weekend, the food was really good, an excellent choice of meat free alternatives. Prawn sesame toast is a must.
