Maple House Chicken And Waffles

I hesitate to give negative reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was not the best. We arrived at around 1:50 PM and were informed at the door by an employee that they were out of waffles. We decided to order wings with beans and rice instead. After waiting for 20 minutes, our server came over to let us know that they had also run out of wings. We ultimately left without receiving any food.

Lots of the complaints I read was about how busy the restaurant is, and that part is true. When my partner and I went, it was around noon, they had one server and one PERSON cooking (who I believe is the owner). We had to wait to be seated until the second server arrived and I actually think this was ethical based on how many people a server can serve at a time. Their food was delicious and fresh, greens were perfectly seasoned (and you can tell that was fresh and not canned) and the servers and owner themselves were friendly and attentive.It's post-pandemic and small mom and pops business struggle! People have to have more compassion when it comes to this. The wait was SO worth it and the owner was killing it in the back by herself. Thank you so much!!

This was my husband and I 1st visit. Parking was good, we were ordering to go so the wait was about 20/30 minutes. The service was welcoming and courteous. The food was on point, we ordered chicken wings, greens, cornbread muffins smothered chicken and rice. Greens (w/smoked turkey was flavorful. Cornbread muffins were moist and buttery.Wings, seasoned and cook how I like it, not to hard. The smothered chicken was very tender juicy. Rice cooked well. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and will return again.

I'm rating this place based on a great conversation.....but so far meeting the owner tells it all.. a wonderful person strong business woman. And a go getter..Im looking at the menu it looks delicious the rating looks outstanding. . I can't wait to try it.. and for those who are looking for some great home cook meal ..comfort food . Straight from your moms kitchen this looks like the place ..

It's been a while since I've enjoyed soul food that wasn't from my own kitchen. For my husband and me, it was our 49th anniversary, and the staff were fantastic and extremely attentive. The food was amazing—everything was just right! We will definitely be returning. The seasonal dishes made me feel right at home. Thank you for making our special day even more memorable!
