Bread Broth Beyond - Omaha

Good place to have an aperitif while waiting for daughter in Muji. Had chips, but needed salt to taste and beer.

Ordered the carbonara for lunch. The carbonara itself was decent, but it was lacking some salt. I’m knocking off the most points for the bread that came with it, though. The pieces were clearly stale, as they were a bit tough and a little rubbery. For a place that has the word “bread” in its name, I was expecting some actually decent bread. The waiter was friendly and service was fast. However, I felt a little uncomfortable at times because some of the staff would stare while I was eating my food. The atmosphere itself was okay—it’s basically in the middle of the walkway, so you don’t get much in the way of privacy if that’s what you’re looking for. Would I come back? Probably not anytime soon—the stale bread really threw me off. That being said, I feel like this place has potential. Maybe try it for yourselves and form your own opinion. Who knows? Maybe the stale bread was a one-time fluke.

Was looking for a different kind of coffee other than Starbucks when we stumbled upon this place inside Shangri-La Mall. It was one of the few food establishments left open at that particular floor (where Muji is). We liked their coffee, and the salted egg chips we had on the side (weird combination). They have quite a variety to offer with a number of bottled condiments and packed chips to choose from.

Had a quick brunch of clam chowder at this place. It didn’t disappoint. Staff are attentive and service was quick. Place was also pleasantly relaxing with its wood finish. I just find the garlic bread too hard.
