Contribuiți la feedbackAfter 5 days trek, this little hostal/hospedaje is the best that happened to us. So a clean and tidy room and full view of the beautiful river Urubamba. The shower has super hot water that you cannot find anywhere in Peru. The lady at the reception is very helpful. Totally recommended.
We didn't expect this amazing dinner and we were very surprised. We start smuggling small bites of the cause, followed by an absolutely delicious soup (Lollipop) and grilled lamb. I'm glad I ate here.
I had Irrgivings when I showed my room. It seemed very basic and needed refreshment. The bathroom felt the same. The room was opposite the river, but in October there was not much water. But my three days passed quickly and I adapted to the drabness. For $40 a night it was a good deal in overpriced Aguas Calientes. Remember that the owner and her teenage daughter don't speak a word English that can cause unexpected problems and misunderstandings.
Conveniently located near the train station and close to the bus for Machu Picchu. It is on the river and the noise is quite something but with the windows closed it wasn't too bad. We stayed one night and because we were leaving early (5am) we would miss breakfast, much to our surprise we had a packed breakfast waiting for us. When we got back to Aguas Calientes we had a few hours to wait for our train and were able to use the internet. The beds are worth a mention as they were the most comfortable we had found in Peru with good quality sheets. It was hard getting up early. The shower had enough hot water for a couple of showers.
The activity level in this hotel is low and offers a quiet atmosphere. The construction, which is concrete with heavy wooden doors, will recover an aggressive swing at the door in the building. The surrounding area of the river on the back of the building is very pleasant and the view from the window is breathtaking from the rocky cliff and vivid green leaf. The beds are perfect for the cool evenings we experienced in early August. The pillows were my only criticism, maybe personal taste. The location is near the train station and Machu Picchu Bus, but far enough on the road to not walk traffic jams like some of the other areas of Aguas Calientes. Breakfast was like the one we had in other hotels, orange juice was always good. It seems to be family business, the staff was friendly, and willing to help from there. Besides, they were more than patient with my lack of Spanish. The hot water was wonderful, but not available later on the day. In summary, this was a very comfortable, clean and simple hotel. In the 3 days I was in Aguas Calientes, I saw no other hotel that looked more attractive.
