Many choices, and eating was good. it is a fun place for a simple meal and good beer. the host/server speaks English and has a great sense of humor. we enjoyed our visit there.
First line a bable that serves a wide range of hearty tales (breton crepes) for dinner along with some traditional sweet crepe options. filled with beer memorabilia and personal who are beer enthusiasts. popular with locals with many family groups. great choice. a casual evening in olive.
I chose to break my long drive (from Narbonne to Calais) in Orleans and found a brasserie in Olivet. It was when I chose a second beer with my meal rather than a wine that the waiter recommended that I try L'Absinthe. I went along...for a night cap... L'Absinthe is a delightful double fronted bar, with one room given over primarily to eating and the other to drinking. I have not seen a more characterful bar in my several visits to France. I really enjoyed my chat with the young owner who explained that he had chosen to provide a wide ranging selection of beers. Beer drinkers from the UK may recognise the Brew Dog name (from Scotland, but available to a limited degree in some English supermarkets) at L'Absinthe they stock the complete range, including Tactical Nuclear Penguin (32% ABV). As I had already drunk well with my meal, I chose a small glass of a draught bière d'abbaye at 10 or 12%. It was delightful! And there were so many other possibilities, I wish I'd found this bar earlier in the evening. Thouroughly recommended and worth a detour!
Went here with the family for crepe and beers - Big selection, fast service and great staff. For sure worth a visit
