There were some ice cream shops and some other small drinks shops opened. The payment and park lots are also closed. There are only a limited number of parking spaces and a few other places that have free parking. You have 2 Port-a-potties near the public bathroom if you are brave. Everything else opens May 1. Anyway, the beach was wonderful as usual.
Not your typical beach town Pier, at least those we were. There are all kinds of shops, sports bars and places to eat everything on the actual pier itself, which was cool. FYI, the bathrooms are to use .75/ea, which we thought somehow strange. We went all the way to the end of the pier, realized that we were very hungry and we decided to order some food for dinner and sit on the Sunset deck of the Patio Pub at the end of the pier. Eating is good, but is kind of expensive and servings are a little small. They basically pay for the atmosphere and the landscape. It is a great place to watch for people.
Great place! We visited mid-June on Sunday afternoon. And it felt like we had gone 40 years ago (in a good way! . Rustique pier, sandy beach swith shower, and amazing views! Not to sneak many shops, restaurants, public toilets and an amusement park. Many parking spaces in the nearby parking lot.
Beautiful views even in the winter. Beautiful boardwalk charm. Businesses were closed as expected. Still a nice place to take a walk by yourself or with your dog. Can't wait to visit in the summer
Pleasantly surprised that the old pier (from when I grew up in the State of Maine) is still thriving! Kind of quiet now that it is off season, but you can see the investment and care put into the area shops, hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. Can't wait to visit again when in Summer Beach going Season!
