As soon as we walked in, there were numerous vacant seats, yet the host seated us right in the middle of four other occupied tables. There was no background music, which made it difficult to avoid overhearing everyone else's conversations and the sounds of eating. Overall, it made for an unpleasant experience. On a positive note, our waiter was extremely friendly, and the food was pretty good. However, the atmosphere really let the place down.
Absolutely terrible food and Inept wait staff. No quality control or care is given (at least with my personal experience). I do not like to give bad reviews especially during the COVID BS with restaurants being short staffed and overwhelmed, but they werenot short staffed nor overwhelmed on this occasion. Plenty of people standing around and a handful of guests. Could?ve done somuch better and I?m not hard to please. Took one bite of each and spit it out. I politely told the waiter my thoughts and hejust shrugged and walked off with the plate. Completely full plate and he did not remove it from the bill, offer to speak to themanager or even request something different. Very unprofessional, untrained and no care whatsoever. He wasn?t rude ordisrespectful, just inept and clearly didn?t care.
The sushi here is fantastic! Be sure to try the Ninja roll; you won't regret it.
Our server, Braydon, was exceptionally rude and unprofessional—one of the most unpleasant young people I've ever met in the hospitality industry. He could benefit from a course in interpersonal skills. In all my years working with the public, I can't imagine treating anyone the way he did; he would risk being dismissed immediately in any respectable establishment. The overall atmosphere was uncomfortable, with staff appearing robotic and instilling a sense of toxicity among customers. It felt more like a place of control rather than one focused on health and customer satisfaction. The manager attempted to engage me with a story about her grandmother, a scientist, but it seemed clear that the understanding of basic science and health protocols was lacking. I reminded the staff that customers essentially pay their salaries—without us, there would be no business. Yet they seemed oblivious to this reality. When the waiter asked if I wanted the hibachi, I declined, yet he proceeded to serve it anyway, splattering a bit of sauce on our table, along with a small, unappetizing salad. It felt like we were being pushed out even before we finished our meal. Our experience was not only unpleasant but also unjustifiable, and I genuinely felt that we shouldn’t have had to pay for such terrible service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially given the lack of manners and respect shown by the staff. I intend to notify the owners and health authorities, as I believe this establishment, which has already faced closures from health inspections, should be permanently shut down. It's abundantly clear why it has such a poor reputation.
Quite tasty food here! Sadly they don't do the hibachi show anymore and I feel like the food suffered some but overall still pretty good especially considering this is South Mississippi. I think they changed a few things in the yum yum sauce and saladdressing too.
