The Tatonut Shop - Ocean Springs

This charming local shop is situated in a lovely neighborhood shopping area. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious! The flavors may be classic, but there's nothing wrong with that.

I had planned on waking up early and going here, but somehow it managed to slip my mind and I didn't remember until after 11:00. Fortunately for me they were still open; however, the selection was somewhat limited by that time. It didn't matter. These were quite possibly the best donuts I've ever had, up there with Shipley Donuts in Bunkie, LA.

The doughnuts were fluffy and delicious, boasting a wonderful flavor. The restaurant was quite popular, but I couldn't quite pinpoint what made these doughnuts stand out. They were tasty, yet not necessarily superior to others I've tried.

From their beginnings as Spudnuts to their current fame as Tatonut, the consistency, quality, and family tradition of the Mohler family in Ocean Springs continue to thrive, serving as a wonderful testament to the success of a small-town passion for hot fried dough. Personally, I love them all, but for me, the twist is one of the best options—whether chocolate or glazed. The iced coffee is also fantastic, offering a smooth cold brew that I really enjoy. They’re closed on Sundays and Mondays, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly. While the Hot Persian is the standout favorite here, I believe you can't go wrong with any selection you make.

Definitely the best donuts in Ocean Springs! Need to stop by early in the day to get the best selection. Will be back at 630 when they open (Tuesday Saturday).
