Od Cafe' - Ocean Lakes

The view is fantastic !! As people have said it is a little dated and is in need of updating. The shower area/bathroom is less than desirable if you are tall or have any sizeable body you will have a had time as there no room! The staff was less than friendly and clearly lacked direction when it came to cleaning and maintaining the building. The attached restaurant/bar is a joke so don't waste your time or money. I am only giving 2 stars because of the room cost. If it was 150 a night I might give it 3 stars If we come back Myrtle beach we will shop around more

Booked a suite for July 20 21 for my daughter, my grandson and granddaughter for my grandsons birthday. They live in Midwest and never get to visit the beach I asked for a low floor when making the reservation in advance due to my very young granddaughter. I came to check in at 3:30 was told check in is at 4pm, ok I get it but saw others checking in. When asked if I had a low floor was told no, unless you want to move to a standard double room. I told them I could not do that because for one I paid for a suite and 2 have a boy with us. The room was on the 7th floor, on the end and was an adjoining room therefore had no kitchen counter space and had a very small refrigerator. Not at all what it looked like in the pictures of a suite. We had brought food and drinks since we had little ones but no where to put it. We left the room and when we came back all of our food that we had to leave out on the table since there was no room in kitchen was infested with ants. We lost all of our food. I am a AGM at a hotel and know you should try to honor request, and check in may be at 4pm, but you also try to accommodate your guest and ants are a big NO! Ants do happen but when reported something should be done. Was very disappointed in my stay. I go to this area at least once a month and will never recommend or stay at this hotel again.

This place is terrible- if you have a friend that you want to come to your room past 11 at night they get angry, threaten to take your ID and not return it, and yell at you "stop being a smart a even if you come before the required time. I thought once you were 18 people treated you like you were an adult, this hotel acts like it 's a summer camp- go to the club Wyndham ocean boulevard (better price and they don 't treat you like a camper as a adult). If you want to be able to have friends to your place without your ID being put in a safe for your whole trip do not go to this hotel.

My wife and I love everything about our stay here. Checking in was easy and plenty of parking. Hotel and rooms were very clean and the staff were all very nice. View of the beach was awesome and a short walk from the hotel. Also a plus was HOTO’s a restaurant and bar in the hotel and right on the beach. Definitely will be staying here again!

Pros the location is the best. Very short walk to some great beach music clubs. The Spanish Galleon club at the hotel is awesome!Cons the room was never cool. Even after switching rooms, the A/C would run for about 5 minutes then shut off leaving the room hot and muggy. For $650 for 3 nights in October, I at least expect a cool room so I can sleep. No discount was offered for the discomfort.
