Dropped in and asked her if she could make a German mocha cake with buttercream icing like my sister and I used to enjoy as kids in Ontario. She insisted she knew what we wanted. Told us that it was a layered torte AND wrote down our specs on the invoice: Mocha torte, mocha buttercream icing, chocolate sprinkles on outside, white cake layers. Price: $35 for a very small cake. Picked it up; brought it home. What a letdown! Chocolate inside! It is not that we don't like chocolate--that's not what we ordered. Called her. She said with a firm loud voice: I MAKE IT WITH CHOCOLATE SPONGE CAKE LAYERS BECAUSE THAT IS BETTER. YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME YOU DON'T LIKE CHOCOLATE and then hung up. Never again!
I don't know why but when I tried to leave a 5 star review yesterday, Trip Advisor wouldn't recognize it and it came out as a 1 star. Amazing and delicious treats (regular and gluten free) that look as good as they taste.
We had a banana chocolate cake that was heavenly. We were fighting over who would get the last bite! If I had more time I would have gone back again for some strudel and another piece of cake. A little shop with some big and delicious baked goods.
Wonderful Austrian/German pastries using lots of whipped cream and fresh fruit. Angelika is a delight and will custom bake for special occasions, - she baked a birthday cake for us that ws widely enjoyed by one & all!
