Capri - NORTH HAMILTON

I had another amazing meal at this restaurant. I ordered the Spaghetti Caruso and it was delicious. It never disappoints. My partner had the vegetable lasagna and also enjoyed it. We love their Cannelloni and Manicotti as well. I haven't tried their pizza yet, but I plan to someday.

I just got a delivery of the chicken caccitore, fucking amazing.. The spaghetti was en dente. Not too much sauce. The chicken was moist and not over cooked It was perfect. I do have 1 suggestion, maybe put a little reggiano cheese on the side. Not much just a sprinkle, don't add it to the top because the lid would take it all. The garlic bread wasn't toasted, I was ok with that, hubby wasn't to each their own I suppose, if it sops up my sauce I'm good, he's Scottish, I'm Italian, give me bread lol.. We had the best experience there tonight. food, perfect. service, just right! atmosphere, old school perfect...no tv screens in your face, no having to yell to have a conversation. Just a little Frank and Dean, crooning in the background. I was transported back in time. The grotto is amazing!

We had a surprise birthday dinner last night the 10 of us really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent we will be going back again soon .

On 5.30. Dec 27 and little we knew @ what a disappointment would be tonight. I remember moving to Hamilton as a teenager in 1968 and making the Capri my weekly pizza destination, so I was looking forward to revising after decades....There were few people, but the restaurant seemed disorganized. I heard one of the kitchen staff complaining that it was a cluster ____. I ordered pizza, my partner ordered a seafood paste. My pizza came and the waitress said the pasta was in a minute. The minutes stretched out so I started on my pizza. Every time the waitress passed, she said the pasta would be right away. I finished my pizza and offered my last slice to my now starved and disappointed partner. I called the waitress and canceled the pasta. After the waitress left with someone who appeared as owner, he showed moments later with the court, claiming that it was a mistake in the kitchen. Really? The pasta was boiled. I called the bill and left the pasta untouched, but for two forks. The bill included both meals and the waitress saw that the pasta was uneaten, but not even asked if it was okay. We paid the bill and left. I hope the owner, the waitress and the kitchen staff make the money for what was an extremely catastrophic meal last, because they never get another penny from me or anyone I can make comfortable to give this place a big berth.
