The food is very tasty and authentic and the staff is always friendly

I'd give 0 stars if I could. There sat 25 minutes to be served and nobody came. Needless to say I went out and took my business elsewhere

Nevertheless, the chicharrón tacos and salsa verde were a standout, which is why I am giving El Vaquero four stars. The salsa was impressive—far from the usual Midlothian Mexican style; it tasted authentic, reminiscent of what my relatives used to make at their farm in South Carolina. The rice was also unique and quite tasty! This place isn’t your typical Mexican restaurant with a steam table. After enjoying the food and soaking up the atmosphere, you almost feel like you're outside with horses and a dirt road instead of a parking lot next to a fast-food place. Despite the great food, I might hesitate to return because of the clear preference shown towards Hispanic customers. I've encountered this before in the Southside, where it felt like they ignored me until I left. I understand that it can be uncomfortable when there's a language barrier, but it wouldn't take long to learn basic phrases like "hello" and "what would you like?" It would be great if the non-English speaking waitstaff could at least communicate in Spanish, as I've navigated enough menus in foreign restaurants to understand a smile and pointing to the menu.

Delicious food and outstanding customer service! The standout dish is the menudo pozole—it's absolutely delicious! The only downside is that they only serve it on Sundays, but wow, it's worth the wait! This is definitely one of my favorite places ever!
