Ginos Fryer - North Ayrshire

I visited this restaurant and the staff were extremely busy, but still friendly. I ordered a sausage supper and a half standard/half special fish supper. The food was delicious and I thought it was the best chippy in Largs. The atmosphere was chaotic, but in a good way that is typical of traditional Italian chippys. I wouldn't choose to eat anywhere else. I give it 5 stars.

I absolutely adore the vegan menu at this restaurant and it was definitely worth the trip from Glasgow. I can't wait to return and try the vegan pizza crunch. Thank you!

In 2024, the vegan calamari was still not available at this restaurant. I wondered if it even existed. I felt like I was being looked down upon for being a foreigner. I waited for 30 minutes, feeling completely ignored by the staff. Others who had arrived after me were being advised and updated on their orders, while I felt invisible. In 2019, I had visited this restaurant in Largs because I had heard they offered vegan options. I tried the vegan crab cake, which was not amazing as it did not taste like fish, but more like a savory cake. However, the prawns, fish, and scampi were all good, and were served with delicious mushy peas and tartare sauce. The service was nice and helpful, despite how busy they were. I would recommend this place and would definitely go back.

Great range of delicious food, shame about the absolutely rubbish service and xenophobic staff. First time of note: I get the server pulling a face at me as I express delight at a novelty (well, novelty to me, not long here from overseas and trying to find joy in the small things food item whilst I’m conversing with his coworker (my neighbour here . Second time: I call up from where I work about a sausage supper and wether it can be delivered to my place of work (literally, right across the street, must be 50 yards if that and has been no bother before only to be ridiculed by the server, quoted 17 odd quid (You what? and told yeah no delivery (cool, I’ll pop over . Anyways, that evening I went over on my break for my sausage supper and to air my grievance in a rational way (I’ve been in service in some form or another since the age of 14 try not to be a dick , only to get an embarrassed silence along side my usual sausage supper. third time: I went back (last week to clear the air but from the shift managers attitude (and a very poorly wrapped item it seems to be they reckon I am the one in the wrong. I won’t be returning, will save my custom for the award winning Fishworks (great view, great food or one of the other dozens of food establishments that offer way more than this place does…all Gino’s seems to be good for is a side of appallingly inconsistent service (fuelled by xenophobia, IMO with your order.
