Othello's on Campus Corner - Norman

Had a great evening at Othello's!  I totally forgot to make reservations and since it was Valentine's Day I was a little worried about getting a table.  We arrived and spoke with the hosts, and they suggested we have a couple drinks at the bar while they get a table ready for us.  We only waited about ten minutes before a very pilot young man, (Luke, maybe?) came over and escorted us to our table.  The two bartenders behind the bar were very pilot and quick to get us started with our wine.   Once seated, our server, Gary,  was very attentive.  He approached us promptly and delivered a wonderful presentation on the evening specials. (Did I mention they presented my girl friend with a beautiful rose???) Both my date and I enjoyed our dinners tremendously.  Gary did a wonderful job of explaining the specials, and they tasted exactly how he described them! I only wish we would of ate a little less bread, and saved room for that creme brulee! Maybe next time! Looking forward to our next visit!

My absolute favorite place in Norman. And now they have their own parking lot!  It's perfect to go on a date, family dinner, or with friends.  Date night - sit in the bar and enjoy the wonderful piano playing from Joel!  You will usually even see people get up and dance!   Family dinner - they have an great table in the back room that seats 10! It is perfect for our family. Every one can see each other and talk to each other without yelling across a big table! Friends - They have so many fun events. Comedy, Trivia, Jazz night...  I am surprised they haven't given me a cot in the back yet... I spend more time here then at my own house!

Dined at Othello's this past weekend after the OU/West Virginia Basketball Game. I was a little skeptical after the reviews I read online, but I can assure you this meal was one of the best I have had in Norman in a long time! We had a nice cozy booth on the restaurant side where we were greeted by a wonderful young man named Sam.  He told us about the evening specials which all sounded to die for!  We opted to start with stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, because the table next to us got them and they smelt delicious!!! Which they were... YUM!!! My husband got the steak, Filet I think.  I am not sure why they are not a steakhouse, because this steak was better then any steak we have gotten at Outback!  And I got the Shrimp Portofino special.  I asked why this wasn't on the menu... Because it was SO good!  Sam assured me that although it wasn't on the menu I can ask for it anytime!  It was wonderful news to my ears! And of course we finished up with some of the homemade Coconut Cream Pie that everyone seems to be talking about these days! All in all, a great evening!  I only wish we would have stopped by the bar to hear that piano player!  Guess we will save that for next time! Please do yourselves a favor... Stop in and try the food on your own!  You won't be sorry!
