I heard that this shop has put a lot of effort into making sake for vegans. So I visited this shop and I was so impressed by their work. Most of the sake that they make are vegan certified. Some kinds are not certified, but the ones that are have a vegan mark on the bottle, so it 's easy to know which is vegan sake. In their shop, they showed us the vegan certificates and told us about the different kinds of sake we can buy. I think that is nice that the shop cares about their vegan customers so much. We bought several kinds of sake including plum wine umeshu is was very delicious. They also have sparkling sake, wine, plum wine and more kinds of alcohol beverages. Surprisingly, most of those drinks are vegan too. I strongly recommend this shop to all people, whether you are vegan or not.
I was very impressed with the staff of this shop. The woman who helped us was very friendly and helpful. She told us that most of the sake in the shop is vegan-certified and also showed us the certificates. The bottles are clearly labeled with a vegan mark. Makes a great gift or souvenir! The sake from Nanbu Bijin is also served at many local restaurants around Ninohe. I tried their umeshu at the nearby Teppanyaki Restaurant, which also has vegan dinner options. The umeshu was very good and is made naturally without any additives. You can normally take a tour around the sake brewery, but they were not doing it when I went because of anti-corona measures. Even so, it was worth the visit! We bought three bottles of different kinds of sake to take home with us.
