Two days back was New Bombay lunch, my go to Indian food all these years. There is one near my building, walking distance, that I use to frequent. I got Chicken Tikka Biryani for one of my mains, a hefty serving of basmati rice mixed beautifully with Indian spices of cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, ginger, lemon, and salt. There was ample white meat that came with it too. It was mildly spiced and went well with my order of Mixed Dal, a lentil filled the bowl that was soupy and tasty. For an appetizer, I opted for Malasa Fry Pappadum, a crispy and well seasoned fried bread. It was accompanied with a salsa-like combination of tomatoes, onions and other spices. I loved this texture, quite addicting.
Nice location, All curries have same kind of taste. But all in all authentic indian food. Price bit overrated as compared to other restaurant at same location.
Quite a staple nearby place for my spicy curry-loving boyfriend and I. The artisanal furniture sets are definitely eye-catching and adds royalty feels to the dining experience. Service crew may be a bit slow at times but they are nice. Recommended dishes: chicken vindaloo, naan (with any curry), shrimp biryani, mixed vegetable soup, yello lentil soup, chicken roganjosh
Good service with delicious indian food.. we really like this place for hanging out.i like mostly paneer dishes and chicken. i always prefer naan n i tried every naan all are delicious and well cooked.
New Bombay is my favorite casual dining Indian Restaurant. If you have friends coming from India getting homesick and looking for a not so fancy authentic dining experience in the metro, New Bombay is the place. Its safe it hits the right notes with their Masala, Tandoori and Rouganoush and its reasonably priced.
