Contribuiți la feedbackWith some hotels that do not have their own beaches in nizza, I fear that our access would only be limited to the public beaches. my hotel (hotel windor, fabulous place) helped quickly identify ruhl plage that my wife and I went for our first beach...day in nizza. we arrived on Thursday at 9 o'clock. we were immediately with hand towels, umbrella, great beach chairs/mat, in the second row. it was great, we met our waiter, patrick. this man was 10/10 on service and personality. he was the “church above” for our beautiful beach day. we enjoyed rest plage and patrick so much, and we reserved again two days later a seat in patricks section. we were thrilled to spend another great day with patrick on the beach! a head is for the whole beach in nizza. it is large pebbles in contrast to sand. it creates a beautiful sound as the waves come, but can be difficult to get in and out of the water without water shoes. ruhl plage has a small plank that can reach them with a lap path, in which they can dive the edge and climb a 5 loop ladder to bring them up again, they help to enter the water on the rocks. no other plage had this entry/excerpt. tldr: if you want to go to the beach in nizza, go for rest plage and ask her to sit in patricks section.
The staff on the beach, especially patrick, who joins us very well. we did not have to wait for our drinks or food and we had very well connected. eating is good, but the menu can be more different, and that can be a plus. in consideration the fact that every day can go. the bathrooms are very clean and the price is resonable. worth a visit.
We just arrived back in the states from three fabulous months in Nice, and Ruhl Plage was definitely one the our best discoveries. We first visited when it was still quite chilly in late April and we had such an amazing time, we went back...three times in May and four times in June. The setting is drop dead gorgeous and the prices are amazingly moderate for enjoying a meal in such a beautiful setting. The had great service on every visit and we tried a wide variety of menu selections from pizza to salads to seafood. We also enjoyed great service every single time. It's so nice to be able to settle in, enjoy a glass of wine, then order and dine at a leisurely pace.
We were staying at Le Meridien and was told that this beach club was recommended because they are known to treat guests well, especially patrons of the hotel. We were able to secure 2 beds at the front with an incredible unobstructed water view. Staff...proved to be helpful during the reservation process. However, once we arrived and situated ourselves at 10:30 am no server approached us for the hour we were there. We decided to eat lunch at their restaurant and we’re seated promptly. However, once again waited 30 minutes until being approached by a server. There were several servers walking around aimlessly and conducting team meetings in our presence during the time. Furthermore, there were only 2 tables seated in the restaurant including ours. When the server arrived, he apologized communicating that he was preoccupied with other work related responsibilities. We were finally served and the food was good, but not great. At the conclusion, we inquired about the lack of service at our beach bed and the waiter assured us that he had notified our beach server of our presence and that he would come find us after returning to our seats. Once again, we waited with no server in site. I finally flagged him down as he was taking another group’s order so that we could order some drinks. Unfortunately throughout the course of the day this was a recurring theme. I understand that service oriented industries are struggling with staffing, but if you are going to charge a premium for the experience then the expectations need to match. Their seemed to be an abundance of staff for the volume of patrons since it wasn’t particularly busy. Safe to say that compared to other beach clubs this place doesn’t even come close. I also fault the Le Meridien for continuing to recommend a place, that based on recent reviews, continues to underperform.
Sorry to say but Ruhl is no longer what it was. We’ve come here regularly for the last eight-ten years but since a couple of years service and food are really bad. Paid à lot for bad service and overcooked pasta and lobster (lobster cooked...yeasterday??? Sorry but it was not near worth what we paid. So from now on we have our beach-meals at Le Galet.
