Vesuvio - Newburgh

Since their return to New York in 2018 they have been around Poughkeepsie, Fishkill and Newburgh NY. I couldn't find a good Italian restaurant with good food at a reasonable price. Well, now I found it. Prices are reasonable. The food is excellent. Especially the roasted Calamari. The service, although attentive, could have been a bit more friendly. But what the service of personality lacks makes food easy. The portions are enough to make you happy. The place is just minutes from I-84. Parking seems somewhat limited. But if you arrive before dinner, you don't have a problem there. Overall, Vesuvios is just as good as the old Italian joints in New York City. Good trip to the Newburg/Beacon Bridge. Reservations are suggested if you plan during dinner rush at weekends.

I had been searching for a good Italian restaurant with delicious food at a fair price, and I finally found it here. The prices are reasonable and the food is excellent, especially the roasted Calamari. The service, while attentive, could be a bit friendlier. However, the delicious food makes up for any lack of personality in the service. The portions are generous and satisfying. The restaurant is conveniently located just minutes from I-84, though parking may be limited. It is best to arrive early for dinner to avoid any parking issues. Overall, Vesuvios is on par with the quality of old Italian joints in New York City. It is a great spot for a meal near the Newburgh/Beacon Bridge. I recommend making reservations, especially during the busy weekend dinner rush.

Today we tried the Italian sampler at this restaurant. I have to say, it was incredibly delicious and there was a lot of food. Thank you to Pete and Conchetta for the wonderful meal.
