I love this ice-**** and wish we had it where I live. I had the vegan mint chip on a sugar cone (the waffel cones are not vegan) it was great. I hope to come back for more ice before I go home.

Perfect place for vegan ice cream lovers. The day before I visited Van Leeuwen for the first time but in UES and I couldn't stop thinking about Vegan Vanilla almond chip flavor with vegan whipped cream. Now it is my favorite spot on the Upper West Side. It is small and cozy as other Van Leeuwen locations. But there is something different about this one. I loved the gratitude journal from Grateful People. So know they have vegan ice cream, compostable spoons, and place where people can take express their gratitude not just towards ice creamThumbs up for this little detail :

Good selection of vegan options and they have small notes with the allergens beside the flavors. We had churros and caramel and cookies and cream. Great texture, really thick and creamy. Many bits of cookies and churro in the mix. The shop is quite narrow and not much seating, no toilet or hand wash that could have been beautiful. Definitely a good place to pick up an ice cream.
