Contribuiți la feedbackWe stumbled upon this place today while searching for a quick meal. It's a cozy little mom-and-pop restaurant nestled among some more upscale and well-known establishments. While it may not have all the fancy decorations and extras, it more than compensates with its simplicity and charm. It isn't fine dining, but that's not its intention or aim. We've visited pricier Mexican restaurants that offered all the frills but lacked personality and served poor-quality food. Here, the food was delicious, and the service was satisfactory. Definitely worth a visit—go and enjoy!
This restaurant is easy to overlook if you're walking by, as the neighboring shops have larger signs that draw more attention. We stumbled upon this place while searching for a takeout lunch. I ordered two tacos: Barbacoa and Al Pastor, priced at $5.00 and $5.50 each, excluding tax. The Barbacoa taco featured beef with roja salsa, pickled red onion, cotija cheese, and cilantro. I noticed a bit of spiciness, but the meat itself lacked flavor. It felt like it was missing salsa, and unfortunately, I wasn’t given any additional sauce—apparently, that comes with an extra charge. The Al Pastor taco was tastier, made with grilled pork, pineapple, radish, and charred tomato salsa. The tortillas were larger and thicker than those from other taco places, but they didn’t stand out. While these tacos are larger and more filling than many others in the area for the price, I would recommend looking elsewhere for better quality.
I honestly can't figure out what this place is all about. They're perpetually closed and seem to just be a gathering spot for delivery drivers. Seriously, they are ALWAYS closed. I have no idea how they manage to cover rent in the Upper West Side without any customers.
I 've been going to this taco spot for years. This place is a little bit hard to find which is probably why it 's usually not too crowded. The vibe is chill, relaxed and trendy. I love the mismatched wall paper on their walls and the quirky Mexican canteen decorations. It 's a fast-casual taco joint. You go to the counter to place your order, grab a seat and wait for them to deliver your food to your table. The tacos here are definitely on the smaller side and at $4 each this might cause sticker shock to some. BUT they have an ongoing Groupon offer which makes the prices very reasonable. They have a good amount of taco options and even some plant-based ones. On our last visit we ordered a variety of tacos (Chorizo, Al pastor, Carnitas, Korean and Camaron). My favorites are the Korean and the Chorizo tacos and I always get these when I 'm here. The tacos tend to be on the wet side. I find that the tortillas they use are a bit too thin and break making for messy eats but I don 't usually mind that. And even though the tacos are on the smaller side, after three tacos I 'm usually very full. Overall, a great place for a snack or quick meal.
Came by here for a shrimp burrito and guac and chips, and it was really good! The guac is freshly made with a nice kick to it. The burrito was decent, and filled with shrimp, rice, beans, and some veggies. The staff were very friendly and helped us right away once we arrived.
