Contribuiți la feedbackIn a nutshell: Among the 100 Vegan restaurants list in the US, this Vegetarian joint packs a lot of flavor! THE GOOD I can see how all the reviews are 5 stars, the attentive service and suggestions to a new customer stands out. Although my first option is Vegan, Vegetarian as second choice I decided to try the impossible burger as is in order to fully appreciate what this fresh take on vegan fast food is all about. The prices are along the line of other organic food restaurants and venues, the $18 burger combo is worth it and will leave you satisfied but if you have a large belly you might fit their famous pickle fries or any dessert option they may had. THE BAD The location is way deep in the Lower East Side, so unless you are staying in the area or have some business to attend around is not the most centric location and it has more of a mall-feel than one would want for a NYC venue. It is fair to say this is more of a Vegetarian Fast-Food joint than a vegan restaurant, the venue is very small and does not have indoor seating. Although tempted to bring the score down to 3 stars because of the inaccurate classification, the service and the quality of the food compensates for it. In a cold and rainy day like today seating outside to eat the food makes you rush through it and move on quickly, I see how in better weather seating outside and people watch have it's benefits. THE BEST Typically vegan or vegetarian food restaurants sin of serving bland food and while there are certain dishes that benefit of a more pure form of preparation in general is just boring Chefs that doesn't really have the guts to use the spicerack... not the case here. Although DILL have limited Vegan options, many Vegetarian dishes can be made Vegan and that's why I love brands like that. A shout out must be given to Mike, who's service and suggestions pan out to a delicious experience, the fries are just crunchy enough and the touch of vinegar puts a smile on my face, the watermelon lemonade sourness is balanced and a great palette cleanser. Looking forward try the rest of the menu, on a warmer day, for sure. Big recommend for sure!
Was recently introduced to Diller by a kosher friend and was such a quintessential LES experience. Got fried pickles with vegan chipotle sauce and a to-go cocktail of pickle juice with saki!! Such a perfect combo, will definitely go back, also has vegan taco, burger and fries! Also has vegetarian so no meat but not 100% vegan.
Tried the fried pickles here they were great. There were four vegan sauces on offer, not all were on the menu. Most things on the menu can be made vegan
This is a small counter serve shop with a couple of seats (no bathroom) that is attached to the pickle store next door. The pickle store offers a wide variety of pickles; this place offers a few items all vegetarian, some vegan (and all with a vegan option) and all that involve pickles. The items include a beyond burger, egg roll, fried pickles, and pickled fried, along with drinks (note: for the beyond burger, make sure to indicate that you want it vegan that ism ask them to hold the cheese and give you a vegan bun). There are no desserts (though the Doughnut Plant is a few doors done). The food here is good; the fries serving are huge one serving of fries could easily satisfy four people. This place allows the opportunity for a true lower East Side experience. Updated from previous review on 2019 09 16
I work just around the corner, and it’s absolutely my favorite spot for lunch! The food is incredibly fresh and delicious, and the staff is very friendly. I also highly recommend picking up some produce at the pickle shop next door!
