Bela Mia - New York City

There is a lot of potential here, but we were very disappointed. We arrived for our reservation on time and were told we could choose a table in the back with a dirty paper tablecloth or sit at the bar, even though we had a reservation. We ended up at the last table in the back next to a non-working toilet. It was incredibly loud with dishes being thrown around and a cold draft. We had to ask for the tablecloth to be changed twice. The waiter brought us a small piece of bread but never came back to check on us. The food was good, but the service was rude and the atmosphere was chaotic. This place could use some Italian motherly touch to reach its potential.

The restaurant staff was incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs, working efficiently within the limited time frame we had before attending a Broadway show. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. There was ample space in the bar area for those who preferred not to sit at a table. The location was excellent, only 2 blocks away from multiple parking garages and theaters. The only drawback was that the decor was in need of an update, with worn-out tables and chairs, peeling wallpaper, and outdated colors. However, the raw brick wall added a cozy vibe to the room.

We went in on a Monday night before a show, and the restaurant was quiet and uncrowded. We were seated immediately. The service was attentive and friendly and we were served quickly. Good start! The food was quite good and we were very satisfied with the overall experience. This is not amazing place that will change your life (good luck with that in the theater district! but it is quite solid and a good value for the area and for a pre-theater meal. If you're looking for a nice meal in the northern half of the theater district, I recommend Bella Mia

I made reservations for 5:30 at 5:30 I showed up I got seated to my table and I had service right away the food was fantastic the waiters were fantastic you couldn't ask for anything better the food was cooked you couldn't ask for anything better than this we topped it off with dessert cheesecake and coffee we finished our meal and we walked over to the theater to enjoy a play but I must say one of the best restaurants I've been in in the last 14 years

6:15 reservations and a show at 8pm. After we were seated, it took 20 minutes for a waiter to come to our table to take a drink order. After we got our drinks, the waiter took our appetizer and salad order. We put our dinner order in at the same time because we were going to a show and figured it would save time. We got our appetizer and salad in a timely manner. 30 minutes later we had to ask the waiter to check on our meal as it was getting late. He came back with our meal and it was cold. Now it’s 7:35pm They offered to heat it up but we now had 15 minutes to get to our show so we asked for the check. A classy place would have comped the 2 drinks and appetizer and salad. Not here. $50 bill and off to the show starving. So disappointed!!!
