Contribuiți la feedbackIt is apparent that Is Israel is a top notch chef. Our dishes were flavorful and the ingredients were fresh. I would recommend that Israel find another building as the current one doesn't match up to his wonderful food. Our server was very nice and helpful.
This was my second time dining at Israel's. The food is amazing. It will take you a good 10 minutes to read through all of the dishes and don't be surprised if it takes another 10 to decide what to get. The seafood burrito is massive and has all sorts of seafood in it. It is a little on the expensive side and it seems like all of the prices were recently marked up with white-out and pen over some of the original prices. For that reason, I didn't want to venture out and try one of the platters. To me, this place seems like a good place to go for special occasions and/or with good company you can share bites among.
No Beer! My shrimp quesadillas were good, and the guacamole was very good. My husband was not impressed with his fish tacos. the pico de gallo was nice, but way mild. When we asked our nice waiter for some diced chiles to jazz it up, I think it took 20 minutes to arrive, pretty much too late to enhance our meal.
The queso and guacamole salsa alone are well worth the visit--unique and delicious. Chef works very hard and it shows--gourmet authentic Mexican fare--large portions--all well prepared.
Israel's is unlike any other Mexican restaurant in town. This is upscale food rather than the standard deep-fried chimichanga with a side of bland beans fare you get many places. Every plate brought to our table was gorgeous! I had the special of mahi-mahi tacos, and each taco was filled with a delicious and generous helping of perfectly prepared fish. We shared a large queso as an appetizer, and it was the best queso I've ever had. One of my fellow diners told our server to surprise him by picking an entrée for him, and he was thrilled with her choice. The only downside to our dinner was that they haven't gotten their liquor license yet, which would have been nice to know upon making the reservation; however, we were allowed to bring in our own bottle of wine to enjoy with our dinner. We were all so wowed by the food that we didn't mind that we were missing margaritas. I can't wait to go back here again once margaritas and sangria are options. In the meantime, bring a bottle of your favorite wine and enjoy a lovely meal and good service.
