Lone Star Nelson

Great food ,ambiance service! One of the very few restaurants in Nelson where we get big portions ! Also to mention their Classic Burrrito , Johnny Cash Stash and Rib-eye steak . Totally loved their Cheesecake crème brûlée. A special mention to their Butter Garlic Prawn starter . A perfect spot for celebrations !

Had a great meal here. Staff were all very good. Sat us beside open doors which was great because nice warm night. Photo of pan fried fish (Tarakihi) and Lasso of Hogg.

Good interior, friendly-persistent stuff but HIGHLY overpriced. My medium steak was well-done and a bit dry and I guess my coleslaw on a side was from yesterday.

Had dinner tonight. I wish I didn't. huge meal, huge aromas, perfectly cooked fish. young enthusiastic and friendly staff. great location in the inner city of nelson. if only every lone star was as good as this one. I'm just in nelson every few years.

Eh....clearly a popular spot for birthdays and families (I think we heard happy birthday at least 3 times...it was a Saturday night) Overall, underwhelming. Margaritas: Lady at the next table was drinking a Margarita with an extra little refill jug, so I ordered a Margarita (was not asked about size, flavor etc.. I did not need jug, but server was not concerned to ask) ...then a different server came over with two glasses, and a large jug of a very pink frozen Margarita.. It took a while for them to understand they were at the wrong table. The actual marg I ordered was sickeningly sweet and sour, I drank half if that! Ordered wine instead. I had a salad, partner had a steak.. It was all okay, but nothing to write home about.. I guess it's good for pleasing large groups. ..... Not over the top, but not cheap eats either
