Les Saveurs Afghanes - Nantes

I was in Nantes for a week staying between the art museum and the botanical garden. I looked on TA for restaurants nearby and found this place which had a good review. I had already been in France for over a week and was looking for non-French cuisine for a change. I stopped by for lunch and had their formule which included an entrée of fried vegetable balls and the main dish of beef curry. The fried vegetable balls were accompanied by a pungent sauce which enhanced their flavor. The curry had a milder flavor than Indian curry, which suited my taste better. The restaurant is cozy, and the man who served me was kind. I went back again for lunch. Highly recommended if you're in this area.

Although roughly located between the Art Museum and Botanical Gardens, we only stumbled across this small, cosy resturant by accident, whilst out for an evening stroll, as it is located a short distance away from the busier bar cafe area. What an amazing find! We were made welcome from the moment that we walked in the door. The colourful decor and cosy surroundings gave a great atmosphere. The reasonably priced menu had plenty of interesting dishes to choose from. The food itself which although looked simple, was mouth-wateringly delicious with an array of delicate and complex flavours. It 's basic concept was not dissimilar to an Indian menu but with the emphasis on flavour rather than spice heat . Our meal was accompanied by a lovely bottle of Muscadet wine, we were certainly not disappointed. Thank you again for a lovely evening!

We ate very well, the boss is very nice, a pity that the restaurant is very small and not too well located otherwise it would have plenty of world with its proposed varieties, I wish him one day to find a restaurant with a good location.

Very good restaurant. Fresh products, impeccable service, tasty dishes and generous portions. I recommend without hesitation and I'll come back.
