Limestone Grille - Mount Vernon

Soon after, a table of eight came in, followed by a group of five, a couple, and a table for three—all after I had ordered. We all started waiting. The server stopped by to refill drinks after ten minutes, and another ten minutes later she returned again, informing me that they were short-staffed but that my food shouldn't be long. Finally, the table of eight received their food, followed by the couple. A different server checked in to see if I needed anything and promised to look into my order. She then reassured me that my food would be next, but another lengthy ten minutes passed before the table of three received the same dish I had ordered. At this point, my dining companion and I decided that if the table of three got their food before we received our appetizer, we were leaving. Sure enough, they were served before us. Frustrated, I left $6 on the table for the drinks and walked out. There wasn't even anyone at the front to address the situation. I would have appreciated it if they had simply acknowledged they lost my order or that there was some issue. Own up to it instead of trying to cover it up. In the end, we went to Arby's across the street, where the food was good, hot, and served quickly. It wasn't my first choice, but it turned out to be the only option that actually delivered food.

During the pandemic, we've made an effort to support local restaurants, and Limestone is typically one of our favorite choices in the area. However, during our recent visit, the bartender who took our phone order seemed to have a rather unpleasant attitude. A month prior, we had ordered takeout from there, and the same bartender brought our food to the car. Our bill was $24, and we tipped him $5, hoping to show appreciation for those in the restaurant industry who are struggling during this time. Unfortunately, he appeared ungrateful and not very friendly then as well.

The butter lacked flavor and was nearly unspreaderable. The fish and shrimp were decent, but the hush puppies were disappointing.
