This restaurant is fantastic! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect since it’s located in a busy area, but it truly exceeded my expectations. My friend and I were visiting from out of town and were specifically looking for a place that serves Mint Juleps, and we ended up at Merle's. First of all, the Mint Juleps are outstanding. Additionally, the skillet cornbread with honey butter is absolutely heavenly—it's definitely enough for two people to share, although you might not want to! I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is also remarkable, set in a historic downtown warehouse with original brick walls.

This was easily one of the best meals I had during my week in Louisville. Our server, Myrna, was exceptional! She was attentive, observant, and very friendly. I noticed her keen attention to detail when I received the wrong dish; she was at our table within a minute to address it. As for our meal, we ordered a range of drinks, from delicious margaritas to mixed cocktails and vodka iced tea, and everyone enjoyed their beverages. If I lived in Louisville, I would definitely be a regular for their margaritas alone! For our main courses, some people got tacos and raved about the green chili jam, while I opted for chicken tenders with green beans and slaw, and others chose chicken with mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious. By the time we were done, I felt completely full and satisfied. The hot honey oil was amazing, and I particularly loved the green beans and slaw. Myrna really made our evening enjoyable; we joked that they should start a little bar or host an event with her at Merle's. She definitely deserves a raise or at least some recognition for her fantastic service!

The mac and cheese was good, but it lacked that tangy cheese flavor I was hoping for. While it was creamy, it didn't quite hit the mark for deliciousness. On the other hand, the fried chicken was a delightful surprise—crispy and juicy. I opted for the breast served with fries. The fries, though frozen, were decent enough. The dish came with a sweet sauce, likely a honey bourbon blend, which complemented it nicely. I also had unsweetened tea to wash it down. The restaurant features two bars, with a dining area that offers standard tables as well as high-top seating. It’s located in the downtown area, close to the very first bourbon distillery. Overall, I experienced great service from a young and energetic team.

This is such a fun environment! They have live music and a great bar selection. We also got some food. They have great chips and delicious guacamole. And fries were awesome. They were super busy so the staff weren't super attentive and friendly but it also just may be the atmosphere. There are lot of tourists but as a local I still enjoyed it!

This place has utterly delicious tacos! Great service too. Loved the exposed bricks and Edison bulbs.
