Macs Hotel - Mount Gambier

We dined with family and relatives . No prior booking was needed. We were promptly seated and able to order food and drinks which were served in a timely manner. Meal portions were generous and reasonably priced. Service was polite and friendly.

Absolutely awesome place! Meals were extremely high standard and the service was second to none! Tristan, the bar manager, and the rest of the staff were extremely courteous and treated us as though we had known them for years. Do yourself a favour and drop in for a refreshment and a meal! We will return!

I went to Mac's hotel for lunch. I ordered the salt and pepper squid with chips and salad. The chips and squid were fine, but the salad was missing.... it was replaced with a VERY small serve of not so tasty coleslaw. Not so happy.

Cannot recommend this hotel at all. Aside from the very overpriced drinks we were told after waiting over an hour for our meals they would be another 20 mins. So cannot comment on quality- we got our refund and went elsewhere. We will not return.

This place use to be our regular haunt before covid... Since covid this pub only cares about the younger patrons. Had dinner in the restaurant tonight asked to add another chair to our table and was refused... lucky we didn't need it on thd end... cause we weren't gonna get it anyway.. Was disgusted to hear that this pub is running short staffed when it use to be such a awesome place to go ... the salad size on the plate was embarrassing, size of a bowl it was in was no bigger than dipping bowl.... and wasn't even fresh salad it was coleslaw out of a bought packet... We won't be returning here sad to say ... hope they wake up to how good this place could be again.... BRING BACK THE SALAD BAR AND DON'T PUT UP PRICES WOULD BE A GOOD START ... All you seem to be doing is profiteering out of lack of service and price hikes.
