Thunderbird - Mount Carmel

When we requested takeout, the staff was slightly unfriendly towards us. It felt like they were inconvenienced by preparing food for takeout orders. We're not sure if it was because we are people of color (the community has been distant with us) or simply because we were ordering takeout. Their attitude was rude but not overly disrespectful.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover vegan choices at this restaurant. I decided to try the impossible burger with fries and enjoyed it. The service was also excellent. Updated review as of February 22, 2023.

We absolutely adore Thunderbird! They have a vegetarian menu with the option to make some dishes vegan. My favorite dish is the Gardein chik'n sandwich because it can be hard to find the grilled breast patties that Gardein offers, but Thunderbird always has them available!

Large separate vegetarian menu, with lots of possibilities to change to vegan. Staff was extremely friendly as well. Everything tasted great and it was a huge surprise in such a small town. We had an impossible burger and a vegan teriyaki chicken salad that great!

Whether you are just passing through or staying in the area, this small restaurant is a hidden gem. Ambrianna and Jason are incredibly kind and welcoming. My husband and I were in town for a hiking trip and decided to dine here two nights in a row. The vegetarian options were excellent, especially the impossible burger and the strawberry rhubarb pie (Jason's favorite). We look forward to visiting again next year.
