Contribuiți la feedbackThis restaurant has been one of the top Chinese restaurants in Perth for more than 25 years. The food, service, and atmosphere are all exceptional. Unfortunately, there has been a noticeable decline in quality since the change in ownership. I have dined here multiple times since the change and have been consistently disappointed. I hope they make some changes, particularly in the kitchen. My dining companions also did not enjoy their meals.
I have no positive comments to make about this restaurant. I had hoped that there would be a hidden gem beyond the unappealing exterior, but I was sorely mistaken. The staff seemed uninterested, the interior decor was lacking, and the food was disappointing. The roasted rice was overcooked and the meat dishes were drowned in a terrible sauce that masked their true flavors. Overall, the texture and taste of the beef and chicken dishes we ordered were not up to par.
This quaint restaurant is located next to Stirling Highway in Mosman Park. It may be small and dimly lit, but the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Plus, the prices are reasonable.
We ate here three times and had hair every time in our meal. Maybe bad luck. Besides the hair, the food was good. Just put a little down.
Please don't dine in. The dining rooms are smelly, dark and unattractive. Use Gar Lok as your take away Chinese. Then it can shine : Everything is cooked to order and it is fresh and tasty. There are some stand out dishes. Recommended are the Honey...King Prawns with Sesame Seeds. Order even if it's not on the menu they will still make it for you. Garlic Beef is tender, juicy and so garlicky. Banana Duck is a beaut dish, as is the Boneless Lemon Chicken. But avoid the sweet and sour pork, as that red dipping sauce really does look radioactive. I have eaten from here over about 5 years and the quality is very consistent. Gar Lok is great as it opens at 5pm and you can pick up the take away on your way home from work, unlike some kitchens that don't start cooking till 6pm.
