Le Verre gave us on 15. October 2019 one of the worst experiences of the restaurant. It wasn't busy when we arrived at the beginning of lunchtime. We sat and gave menus. (Note: sit at the common long tables. The little ones are too slow to feel comfortable when you eat. While we waited, other girls came in and received appetizers. Finally, we placed our order. The divided appetizer (some simple, fried and baked fish, shrimp and chickens came after about twenty minutes and a warning from the server after about half the time that it would last a petite minute longer. Then the rest of the food took almost an hour to come to us. When it came, it arrived separately. My laughter was very good. My wife Pasta dish was decent and pretty big, arriving a few minutes later. I commented about the long waiting period and the server offered to make us tea or coffee on the house, but I refused because that would have taken who knows how long. When we paid, it turned out that she had forgotten to list my wife's wine and correct the bill. We were finally finished over two hours after the entrance. It looked like the server worked hard and did what it could, but the kitchen had to be small, slow and obviously overloaded. Many people come here for the wine and are returned where the wine shelves are so that they choose from the many bottles. We didn't know that. Some males had long faces and waited a long time for their food. Others were apparently aware of how this place works and how to work timely phone calls, reading documents or otherwise. I hope never to see the inside of this place again.
While this place offers veggies and vegan alternatives the fact is that they were limited on our visit. Don't get me wrong, food quality is good, with a nice Leffe beer on offer, its just that choices other than meat appear limited. We opted for...the two veggie plates available and effectively did a mix and match. There was a fair bit of overlap as a result with lots of tomatoes!! Dips were the highlight which says a lot about the overall impression I had of the meal. While likely good for meat eaters, there are better and more adventurous alternatives available in Montpellier.
Er dropped in for deserts at 20:00. It was not possible to get only deserts, coffee or congnac although all were on the menu. The pompous waiter could not explain why. Cannot recommend this place.
I loved, pleasant welcome, warm setting, appetizing and good plateaus. I want to go back. a great choice of wine.
