We had gone here in the past and really enjoyed it and we wanted to do something special for Easter Sunday. I made a reservation a month and a half prior to Easter, to ensure that we would get a nice table. Upon arriving we were seated in the back dining room. We were the only people seated in that room for the entire duration of our meal. There were no flowers on the table or special food items on the menu for Easter. It was just a regular day. The other side of the restaurant where we were not sitting was lively and sunny and we felt totally isolated. My husband ordered steak that was full of grizzle. I had the vegetarian burger and it was so dry it was crumbly and I had to eat it with a fork and lots of fluids. I had ordered my salad with the dressing on the side, however when the server brought our meal the salad had dressing and she told me about it and still placed it infront of me. I had to ask her to change it. Although the meal was disappointing we were hoping that perhaps there would be an extra special dessert. Nope, only two choices, which we opted against. All in all not a very memorable Easter. Will not be returning. I spoke to several people after this event and was told that the restaurant is under new management. That would make sense. I did write a poor review to Open Table and was not contacted by the restaurant. I told my husband that I would write a review on Tripadvisor and he said, it won't make a difference because he would never go back.
We went with old friends from the area to this countryside restaurant and vineyard. Three of us had beef burgers and I had the veggie burger. The fries on the side were abundant. the burgers were good. the Pinot Noir to pare was great. service was friendly and attentive.
Date night ruined by a server with a bad attitude. We arrived quite early for our reservation but the hostess and server on shift said it was ok and seated us. We thought we'd try some of the Unsworth wines, have an appetizer or two until we got to a more normal dining time for us. (We joked we were eating early like our parents. Our initial server was great, brought us wine and a delicious appetizer at the early hour of 430. She checked on us about 10 minutes later and we said, we'd be ready to order our entrees in another 10. About 15 minutes later a male server came through asking if we were still using our menu. We said we were for now. He never indicated that he was taking over the section or introduced himself. We figured that out on our own. Four more tables arrived which he served but never once came back to check on us until just after 5:30. By this point we felt beyond ignored and asked for the bill. This server became argumentative that he'd only been away 10 minutes. We did not engage, he left and a young hostess brought the bill. That was the extent of our experience. We were quite rattled by it all as it was going to be a special night and this restaurant was recommended to us. We've dined in fine restaurants across North America and Europe and this one is memorable for all of the wrong reasons. We hope your experience here is better than ours. We'll drive by next time.
Wonderful setting and cosy dining room. Excellent wine advice for pairing with our meal. Food was delicious. Couldn’t fault it 10/10
