Contribuiți la feedbackI used to love the Gaudi dish at this restaurant, but every time I try to order it, they tell me it's unavailable and must be ordered a day in advance. It's frustrating that it's still on the menu if they can't serve it on the spot. Who plans their cravings a day ahead anymore? It's disappointing because this used to be my favorite vegan spot, but I've been turned away so many times that it's lost its appeal. Please address this issue, as the vegan community in Manila needs dependable restaurants to support their lifestyle.
I have been dining at Susi in Manila at least once a week for the past 8 months. I have tried almost everything on the menu and I loved it all! My favorites are the Emerson and all the sandwiches, especially with gluten free bread. The Moby Dips is a delicious starter to share. While it is not a cheap place to eat, the prices are similar to other places in the area, as it is located in Forbes Town in BGC, one of the most expensive areas in Manila. The service at Susi is excellent, with friendly and always smiling waiters who make you feel at home. The only thing I would change is the closing time during the week, as they close at 9pm which I think is a bit too early. Overall, Susi is a great restaurant and I highly recommend it. Thank you, Susi! :-)
In a city where red meat is king, finding vegan options can be quite a challenge. However, Susi bravely offers an alternative to the meat-centric culture. Situated in the bustling Burgos Circle in BGC, this small and cozy restaurant features floor-to-ceiling glass walls perfect for people-watching. The second-floor dining area is just as inviting. One must-try dish is The Alcott, a flavorful tomato stew with kale, red bell pepper, shiitake mushrooms, served with brown rice and a tangy spicy chili condiment. Don't forget to also sample the delicious sweet potato wedges! A meal at Susi typically costs around PHP400-500.
I will keep this short and to the point. I came in one late evening after a facial about 8pm, and was the only person at the restaurant apart from a tiny dog and a lady whom I suspect was the manager or accountant.I was starving (no fault of theirs) so I placed an order for a dish with scallops. Waited for what seemed like almost 30 minutes---bizarre since I was the only customer in the restaurant---t was only later that I realized why. I was served my dish with piping hot risotto and half frozen scallops. Did they take almost 30 minutes to defrost the frozen scallops? Sent the dish back immediately to replace for a pasta. Couldn't fathom at this state of hunger for refusing to pay and getting into an argument with staff who would have potentially demanded that I pay for something I didn't eat but merely took a bite off. I am being presumptuous, however I am pretty confident this would have happend. At this point I was irate and all the more famished. Also had no idea how long I would now have to wait for a second dish. Server took said frozen scallop away without wincing or apology given. Spaghetti dish was so-so. Definitely not setting foot in here again.
As a former vegetarian, I am always happy to see diners get into the no meat experience, even if not on a regular basis. Susi takes you beyond vegetarian cuisine, the food is vegan -- no dairy, no eggs and there are even gluten free bread choices.I was interested to try it and brought along a balikbayan vegan friend for dinner. We ordered separate dishes -- the beet burger, a mushroom chorizo breakfast plate, a shepherd's pie and my choice was called Quinotto -- quinoa cooked risotto style. We also shared a mushroom pate appetiser served with gluten free bread. The prices are expensive and the portions are not generous -- you'd think the restaurant would want to encourage more people to get into the vegan lifestyle by offering attractively priced food.I liked my Quinotto but the rest of the stuff we ordered was forgettable -- definitely not worth the P400+ price per item. The blurb on the menu says everything is Instagrammable -- I would have much preferred if the choices were delectable.
