Kahootz Steak Ale House - Meridian

The atmosphere was quite busy and loud. I ordered the club sandwich, while my significant other chose the special fish and chips. I liked the club, but I wasn't a fan of the fries; they were seasoned with pepper and lacked crispiness. The fish and chips featured a panko crust instead of the traditional beer batter, and the portion of fish was disappointingly small for the price.

A Meridian institution. I had the Sirloin Sandwich. The horseradish elevated the entire meal.

The steak was of excellent quality, especially considering the price. The selection of draft beers was impressive as well. The salads were both innovative and tasty.

Overpriced and not great. Got the “aged” ribeye, but it was not aged.. it was flavorful but I can buy a $20 steak and make it taste better at home. Mac and cheese is advertised as having smoked Gouda, but tasted like white cheddar that came from a box. Both orders of Mac and cheese came out cold and when mentioned to our waitress, they took our plates and tossed it in the microwave then brought it back out. My once hot steak was then room temp and my Mac and cheese was boiling. However the clam chowder was pretty amazing minus the little grit in the chunky clams. Waitress was nice enough, but I really struggle with restaurants that nuke food…

Exactly what you would expect! A great local place with great local people! Highly recommended!
