Our server Jeff provided excellent service, the sommelier was fantastic, and the manager checked in on us to ensure everything was going well. We tried a variety of dishes, but the oysters and scallops were particularly outstanding. The music was great, the ambiance was perfect, and the food was served at just the right pace. Chandlers has been the best restaurant in the city for years, and they continue to impress. Keep up the great work!
Have been to Boise many times; first time at Chandlers. The mood was so chill and welcoming. Had a great table in the lounge. Awesome old fashioned and devils kiss cocktails to start. We chose from the prix fixe menu. Beef Bourginon was outstanding as was the veal piccata. Wedge salads were delicious though a bit light on the dressing, and the dessert choices were equally delicious and varied. Get the bread. The butter and olive tapenade were delicious. Great jazz combo played at a volume that dulled outside conversations but didn't make personal conversations difficult. The staff were equally lovely. Friendly but not overly so. Attentive but not intrusive. Great team! This will definitely be a favorite of ours going forward.
We absolutely love Chandlers!! We have been coming here for the past two years whenever we visit family from San Francisco, and we are always impressed by the food and service - which is why we give it 5 stars!! We highly recommend trying all of their appetizers; most recently, we tried the abalone app and a plate of oysters. The abalone was tender, perfectly breaded, and the lemon/oyster mushroom sauce was divine. We also enjoyed a beer salad before our delicious entrees arrived. Our favorite dishes are the corn fed filets, which we like to spice up with either blue cheese or foi gras. My partner always gets the side of Mac n cheese, which is also a must try. Zach, our server, has taken care of us a few times and he is simply the best. Keep up the great work Chandlers - we will definitely be back!
I have visited this restaurant several times and decided to stop by for some light snacks at the bar. My wife and I ended up trying a variety of dishes, including Escargot, Crab Cakes, Oysters, A5 Wagyu, Mushrooms, and Au Gratin. The service at the bar was excellent, prompt, friendly, and professional - possibly the best service I have experienced in Boise. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the food was all delicious. The Crab Cakes were amazing - fresh and flavorful with a nice horseradish sauce. The Au Gratin was decadent and well-layered, with a subtle hint of fennel adding depth. The A5 Wagyu was buttery and delicious as expected. The Vesper cocktail was perfectly crafted, and the martini's paired perfectly with the ambiance. I am already looking forward to my next visit.
Absolutely loved our visit to Chandlers! Our server, Bodie, took such good care of us and was wonderful the whole time! I've been wanting to try Chandlers since moving to Idaho because I heard that they had A5 Japanese Wagyu. I wanted to see if their quality was just as good as what I'm used to. My usual birthday tradition is to splurge on A5 Japanese Wagyu, which I would get at Morimoto's in Napa. I was surprised to see that Chandlers' A5 Japanese Wagyu is slightly less expensive per ounce, so I ended up getting the 10oz vs. the 5oz. It was absolutely delicious! So rich and the texture is like butter definitely worth the price! Make sure to order it with their recommended temperature. My steak came with two sides, so I got the creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. I was surprised to see that the portions were pretty substantial for fine dining side dishes. Definitely not complaining though both were delicious and well seasoned. My husband got the smoked ribeye which was also good. I'm just personally not a big fan of strong mesquite smoky flavor, but if you're into that, definitely try it! And because it was our first time at Chandlers and were there for a date night, Bodie was kind enough to bring us the chocolate soufflé on the house! The soufflé was so good, especially when topped with their orange zest whipped cream. Great texture, just had the right amount of sweetness, and wasn't too rich for chocolate. Other things to note: typical of high end fine dining, they start you off with an amuse bouche, which was a great palette starter. They also provide you with some nice warm and damp hand towel after your meal, which made my hands feel soft afterwards. The bread service (upon request) was amazing! I'm not a bug fan of sourdough, but their sourdough dinner rolls were delicious. Their focaccia was also really good, especially paired with their champagne butter. Bread service also came with an olive tapenade which my husband loved. I also got the huckleberry lemon drop cocktail which was sooo good. I don't drink often, but when I do I prefer sweeter cocktails. The lemon drop had just the right amount of balance. Overall, we were very impressed and satisfied with our experience at Chandlers and will be definitely coming back! At the very least, I'm glad I can go back to eating good A5 Japanese Wagyu steak every year for my birthday, haha.
