Rendezvous Coffee - Mendip

I was disappointed to find out that there was no salad available during Monday lunchtime. I had to settle for a tuna melt panini instead of the chicken caesar salad that I was craving. The panini was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. The staff were okay and the service was fairly quick, but overall I wouldn't be in a rush to return to this restaurant.

I visited this coffee shop in September during the afternoon. I ordered an americano and an oreo tiffin. When I tried to specify which slice I would prefer, the lady behind the counter rudely replied, "it's all the same." I insisted on getting the one with oreo bits on it. The young owners made me feel uncomfortable, as they were loud, gossiping, and not attentive to customers. It was the first time I felt so uneasy in a coffee shop. The owners should not have been there, as they created a negative experience.

The staff at this restaurant can be hit or miss in terms of friendliness. However, the coffee is consistently excellent and they offer a great variety of cakes. One downside is that the cakes are usually left uncovered, which can lead to them drying out as customers pass by on their way to the upstairs dining area.

Food was served in a reasonable timeframe My fishcakes looked home made, and were very good indeed. Chips slight flavour of oil in them but nice and crispy, and piping hot Jacket pot was of a good size all in all meal and drinks for 2 at £13 well impressed, and all appear cooked in house with friendly staff Shame no drinks licence, would have given it an extra edge

I came in to the cafe, asked for MENU 3 times and was completely ignored. While waiting for it, headed to the bathroom. Suddenly heard shouting behind me. The 2 ‘ladies’ running the cafe run after me and shouted that I can’t use the bathroom until I order. And I mean, shouted with hate and anger face. I said, I was waiting for them to show me the menu and will order in a moment, as very hungry. Still- the shouting continued. I couldn’t bare their rude, stressed and shouty behavior. Headed across the road to a lovely little cafe called TIME FOR TEA- what a difference!!! Happy faces, welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful back patio In the sun. Just skip RANDEZVOUS and head straight to TIME FOR TEA :
