Contribuiți la feedbackWe have been in black horse pub for years, but this time it was the first when it was in the possession of 40 north. eating and service were very consistent. try the baby back ribs or each salat! the 40 north cabernet sauvignon was actually very good!
I am now at black horse pub . I had hamburger slider with speck and be the perfect size for weight management . I asked that the frits are not cooked. they have made a wonderful job. my only complicity is that they have not comforted the brot. a restaurant should always taste the bread and don't put anything on it like butter. I'm back, the staff was so great. they were very friendly and pleasant to speak.
Stopped on a demalsonntag and immediately taken from the atmosphere and the robust menu options. we had the burger royal, which was divinely cooked and was accompanied by delicious frits. as had the fish chips, which probably had one of the best we ever had. delicious with a lukewarm cripple. the only negatiw was the prices of the weine. a bit steep, komparatiw spoke our server allison was eclig excellent and much fun. contempt and fast for any question we made perhaps the only negatiw the price of the weine, but otherwise a pure joy to dinate there
The Black Horse Pub was for years owned by an individual who cared about and had a relationship with his customers. Now part of the 40 North corporate conglomerate, what had been a friendly, neighborhood gathering spot has gone full corporate. No more just stopping by for dinner now reservations required. The always relaxed service has become abysmally slow with barely warm food being served. Overly loud live music that made conversation with dining mates difficult to impossible. As a very long time customer and supporter, I emailed 40 North with some complaints and suggestions. Not even a response from their “we care” email address!
I’ve been going to the Black Horse Pub for decades. It was in my rotation and I was going weekly for awhile. The Black Horse traditionally had people waiting to be seated. That’s how popular it was. Fortunately, its fun to people watch AND it used to be like a car show with Ferraris and Lamborghinis to be seen. The wait was worth it because the food and service were so good. That was the olden days… Supposedly, there were some changes in ownership and the menu changed … for awhile … then, thankfully reverted. (If it ain’t broke …. Some of my favorites the fried zucchini sticks in particular were missing. That was a big disappointment! Fortunately, the zucchini sticks were back post Covid lockdown. Here’s my complaint recently, I got a batch of fried zucchini sticks with little or no zucchini! Just a huge serving of fried coating and a skimpy serving of ranch dressing. I thought I was on “Candid Camera.” That’s inexcusable. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. The waiter couldn’t have been more apologetic or nice and took it off the check. I was unsatisfied … I’m surprised they didn’t try another batch but maybe they knew there was a problem. (Maybe that’s why it wasn’t busy Next time I go to the Black Horse I’ll look for a crowd before I go in. It could be awhile…
