Group of friends we catch every year at poons. beautiful restaurant amazing staff and behind the scenes it must be an ingenious cook. beautiful selection of foods, we could never complain, as there is nothing to complain to keep the good work. we love you all

We were disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. First, they forgot to bring us our soup and we had to wait a long time. We ordered two appetizers, Singapore noodles, and two large fried rices. The total came to $100, which was not the issue. However, the meat in the dishes was lacking, the rice was average, and the noodles were just okay. There were barely any shrimp in the dishes and they were overly sweet. Overall, we found the meal to be very disappointing, especially considering it is supposed to be the best Chinese restaurant in the western suburbs. We will not be returning.

We have been dining at Poons for forty years, but we will never return. We were seated and asked for our order without being given menus. Our spring rolls arrived promptly, but we waited an hour and twenty minutes for our main dishes, which never arrived. Despite larger tables around us being served, our table and another table of two were ignored. The service was incredibly poor. We paid for the spring rolls we had received and left. Additionally, we were disappointed to see a small child serving dishes to customers. It is sad to see a Footscray institution like Poons decline in this way.

Sat for long expected, with friends after including for so long. was great eating and great to catch up with everyone. that was 11 of us just something I would complain about would have been nice to have a round table... instead of a long rectangular where we would have been easier to talk to everyone. but except that everything was beautiful. the outflow of the food is great. we had banquet and all bells were full. great place for dinner and meet. well worth the trip from the other side of the city. will be coming back in any case

Poon's have been serving classic Chinese cuisine in Barkly St for over 50 years. Poon's Chinese restaurant is well-loved in Footscray. The menu is mainly composed of traditional Cantonese favouites such as crispy chicken, mongolian steak and pork with Chinese vegetables. It is fully licensed...and BYO.
