Mama Bear - Melbourne

We had an awful experience and also food was terrible. I got the avo on toast and my mother got the halloumi stack the avo was off and brown so the taste was something you literally can’t keep eating, my mother also noticed the taste after having a couple bites as hers had avo underneath the eggs. We told the staff that the avo was not good and showed her that it was brown, she told us that it was fine and they pre-make the avo with olive oil and that’s what we were tasting. After that response and her lack of understanding we decided to not order anything else and get a refund. She made my mother pay for half her dish as she ate a halloumi piece even though the halloumi was on top not touching the avo. Please don’t go and support this business there are a million cafes around this area as I live locally that firstly would taste 10 times better and not treat customers as poorly as they did. Also it’s under new management as we used to love this place pre Covid Cafes you should go to are local folk and fruits of passion. So go support those cafes.

A fantastic place. A lovely old building, very friendly service and the food was great. Very well priced and the coffee couldn’t be better.

Save yourself unless you got all day free for coffee/meal. Cleary under new ownership and it took 35 mins for coffee order to come and 90 mins for eggs and toast (while there were total of 9 customers in the cafe)

Awesome. Out of six people, everyone ordered something different. Great menu selection, good amount of options. We found the service to be pretty good compared to what others have said on reviews. This place was busy so I can't fault their efforts. The portions are of good size. Came out in a good timely manner, no one was waiting for a lengthy time. Everything was very fresh. Coffees were good too!!

Food good... service lacking in our part of cafe... had to chase waitress to additional coffee and toast and remind again .., disappointing as I love visiting this place when in Melbourne .. is dog friendly tho which is a bonus
