Our waiter, Trevor, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, answering all of our questions with ease. All three of us ordered seafood, and everything we had was delicious. As we were leaving, we noticed there was live piano music, so we decided to stay for a drink. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. The bartender mentioned that there is live music every night, so I definitely plan to return. The bar and lounge area is warm and inviting, and there's a charming front porch with a firepit. Overall, it's a beautifully designed restaurant.
During our last trip to beautiful Melbourne, we were recommended this restaurant by a chef friend, so we expected it to be good. However, the service and ambiance exceeded all our expectations. We definitely plan to return the next time we’re in the area. It’s a fantastic spot for a date night, boasting impeccable style and a quiet elegance. A solid A all the way!
Wasn 't informed of the Prix Fixe menu only when I made the reservations. That was ok, because being from Atlanta, Valentine 's Day is more expensive, but you usually get more for your money. The server was good but the kitchen got backed up by 8PM (isn 't that the whole idea of this type of menu so that you can keep up). It took over 30 minutes from the cheese tortellini (the quality of which I had not tasted since Mac-n-Cheese days with my son in school) to get the smallest filet I have even seen. It was pathetic. When I asked the manger and the server what the problem was, the manager ignored me and left the server to explain blah-blah-blah. Bottom line, this was not my first trip to a nice restaurant so I have some idea what you should get for $275 for two with one drink apiece and Djon didn 't even come close. It 's really too bad because the atmosphere is great, but I wouldn 't risk another meal there at any price.
We were very excited to dine at this rest. on Valentines night. What a disappointment. There was a preset menu that ranged in price from $65 to $80 per person. The app. was a serving of raw tuna, a cold scallop, and a bad looking tomato slice with a slice of mozzarrella on top. The second course was an insult to everyone there. It was a lettuce wedge complete with brown lettuce with some blue cheese dressing on top and some grated carrots. No presentation appeal at all. We never made it to the main course because the food was so terrible we decided to leave without eating the salad. The manager did not apoligize and did not seem to care if we left or not. We paid for our drinks and left. While walking to the car I called the Charthouse. Because of a cancellation they were able to take us right away. Valentines Day Saved!
As a couple accompanied by another couple who have dined in restaurants around the world and are quite familiar with dining etiquette, we were shocked when the manager requested that we leave immediately after settling our bill. We spent over $300, tipped at least 25%, and paid as soon as our server brought the check. If the manager had simply explained that they were busy (which they weren't) and needed to accommodate another party, perhaps offering to move us to the bar with a complimentary after-dinner drink, we would have gladly complied—even without the drink—rather than feeling so unceremoniously dismissed. My husband is so upset that he refuses to return. It’s a shame because the food and service were good, and this restaurant has been a special place for us over the years to celebrate occasions with family and friends.
