Great place to do a bridal party. Great view of the river and the staff was super friendly.

We enjoy dining on their outdoor patio by the river! The food is excellent, and the service is outstanding!

We had a wonderful dinner on the patio. The family is a big fan of their fries. The Metalwood Club is an excellent summer sandwich—definitely try it with avocado!

1. Upon arrival, we were informed that the restaurant was short-staffed. 2. It took 30 minutes for us to receive water and any acknowledgment from the staff. 3. We ordered family-style dishes, including chicken, salmon, potatoes, and broccoli. There was no butter on the table, the food was lukewarm, and the salmon was dry (I opted not to try the chicken). On a positive note, the coffee was hot. 4. We were told that we couldn’t take home extra plates that we had paid for because some guests did not attend due to "CDC and Health Department guidelines." However, there is no such restriction. We were then told it was stated in the signed contract, but there was no contract at all. 5. We informed them that we would only pay for the meals of those who were present, as there was no contract. 6. I observed ongoing conversations among the staff over text messages. I requested the owner's contact, and although the staff provided Monica’s number, she refused to answer. Eventually, the staff brought out extra food prepared for the guests who were absent. 7. We reached an agreement to settle the bill, but it included charges for soft drinks that were supposed to be included in the meal package. Subsequently, we were presented with an additional bill. 8. After paying the bill, we left the venue. I mentioned to the staff that I work with a legislator and am familiar with statutes. There is nothing in the law that prohibits us from taking home the leftover food. Without a contract stating otherwise, they should have simply given the 12 paid meals to the family or billed us only for the 17 who were present. To make matters worse, the owner, Monica, repeatedly called and sent harassing and threatening messages to a family member. She also sent an inappropriate text to me, implying that I had walked out on the bill and even took photos of the widow with her daughter, despite the fact that the bill was paid long before we left. It appears Monica was out of the loop with her staff. Additionally, she used offensive language in her texts. Even more concerning, the waitress recorded our private conversation while we were trying to address the issues. In Illinois, it is illegal to record someone without their consent. We were speaking in low tones to avoid disturbing grieving family members, and we had an expectation of privacy. A police report will be filed regarding this incident. Throughout the ordeal, we reassured the waitress that this was not her fault, and now knowing that she was taking pictures and recording without anyone's knowledge is quite alarming. I would never return to this restaurant for any meal, golf, event, or anything else. It's clear why the place was nearly empty during lunchtime.

Went there with my family to celebrate my first mothers day. We went at 2pm for their Mother’s Day brunch when we walked in a lot of the food looked gone through and scarce. The food was cold, pancakes hard and the skillet was very oily. We had the table for 1 1/2 hrs and they started clearing out the table 45min into brunch. The dessert table only had a few items left you can tell everyone from earlier in the day has gone through, whatever was left had flys on it. Do not recommend this place. For the price I could have went to a much nicer restaurant with hot food. Regular soft drinks weren’t even included in the buffet price. Ridiculous and a waste of money.
