The Roost Maynooth

Had booked a stag party for 25 people after we were recommended this bar. This was off the back of a day at the races. We were due to eat here and upon arriving where we were told they do not cater for stag parties and we had to cancel our food order. We had planned our whole stay in Maynooth around this and to be treated so poorly was a disgrace. The majority of our group were sober including the stag himself. We suggested that if he had a problem with any member of the group not being sober enough it would be fine to refuse them entry but to refuse the entire group after accepting the booking is really poor management and should give you a sense as to the type of people you are dealing with here. No empathy shown or accountability for accepting this booking. We were also told by one member of staff that they thought we would have had female members to the party and this is why they accepted the booking... They also tried to tell us they were unaware it was a stag when they booked the party but this was another lie, we told the bus who drove us around for the day it was a stag upon booking, we told the hotel the same, so no reason not to tell the bar. do not book this bar if you are a stag or hen party. Brady's is a much better option with great staff and atmosphere.

Great service overall at the bar. Food is excellent, but service is not consistent when ordering food. Very slow.

We went to Roost for a late lunch on a sunny Saturday and sat outside. Got attended immediately by a very pleasant waitress and ordered fish and chips, green curry, chicken burger and chili nachos. All very tasty food with decent portion size. Will definetely go back.

I really like this place, mainly because the wide sort food in the menu. Indian, Thai, Mexican, Irish, vegetarian, fish and bites. It's a cozy place and every Monday has a trial performance with Irish music.

Great pub, doing their best in difficult times, manager has it running very well, great atmosphere, friendly, happy staff. Missing the friday Trad session.
