Contribuiți la feedbackAs a family, we've been visiting Porto for about 10 years and I'm sorry to say that our experience last night was the worst restaurant experience we've had in the city. The restaurant does not keep its promises on reservations and is oblivious to the needs of children with mobility problems. You are also offered an English language menu and the advertised daily specials outside the restaurant are unavailable when you ask. There is also limited options on the English language menu for children. First impressions were good, however. There were lots of Portuguese parties older couples, families and groups of male eaters. The atmosphere looked promising. We arrived at the restaurant and patiently waited to be seated. We have two sons aged 8 and 10 years old, with the older boy needing crutches to walk because of a disability. The waiter told us that he would have a table in 15 minutes but this could be 20 minutes. They asked for our name which we gave to them. As there's not a waiting area, we told them we would be back before 15 minutes. We came back just before the 15 minutes were up and we were told that our table was gone. The waiter then made it appear that it was our fault. We should have left at this stage, which in hindsight I regret. He told us we'd have to wait for about 10 minutes to be seated. However, we then had to wait for another 20 minutes. You might ask why we didn't leave. By this time, it was past 9pm and our sons were hungry and tired, especially the older son who had to sit on the ground. It would have been the polite for the restaurant to have offered him a seat there were some as his crutches were visible. The food was ok, but the same waiter kept a false bonhomie going with me, by repeatedly touching my back or shoulder to keep up a connection. We had to order another dish as the rice and bean stew with stripes of meat was inedible for our sons. When it came to desserts, another waiter appeared incredulous when we said no. We paid by cash and got a receipt, but then the bonhomie waiter appeared with a card machine for us to pay again. You couldn't make this up. This is a restaurant which is probably good if you are a Porto local, but best avoided if you are a tourist family, especially with a child who has mobility issues. We have experienced many restaurants in the city where locals and visitors are treated equitably and which empathise with individuals with physical disabilities.
Best food and best service in Porto serving authentic northern Portuguese food. Tripas was incredible. Squids were recommended by the waiter and couldn’t have been any better. Would highly recommend we still rave about it almost two years after our visit. We will be back!!!
Very nice tipical place, good food with nice prices
Perfeito.
No atendimento, nada a apontar. Bom serviço e funcionários simpáticos. A repetir, seguramente.
