Contribuiți la feedbackI love visiting hole in the wall joints! We recently discovered a Ramen Joint along a quiet street in 'Kina. The go by Shizen Ramen. Suffice to say that we decided to have dinner here one night. The place is small. No fancy decor. Wooden tables and chairs. I guess they are going for Japanese Minimalism. Albeit the lack of decor, i find the place inviting. Sometimes, simple goes a long way. Let 's talk about the food, shall we? Chasyu Ramen. I took a spoonful but i didn 't taste the flavor my tastebuds are numb because of all the chili. The chasyu is really tender and flavorful though. Yakuza Ramen. As the name implies, this is the most badass in their ramen roster. I opted for the super spicy broth. I was surprised with how big the serving is! Man, this is good for sharing. My big bowl comprises of spicy broth, bean sprouts, beef strips, tofu and egg. I am no Ramen Expert and i tried the expensive joints and i can say that their ramen is decent and affordable. The broth is not as rich as Nagi but it is seasoned well. There is not enough beef strips but i ain 't complaining, the tofu, noodles is more than enough. I 'm giving them four stars because of the following: Value for Money. The most expensive ramen is priced at php 199. Serving Size. As what I 've said, the serving is huge. Taste. Shizen delivered in terms of taste and flavor.
Heads up and watch out for some awesome shiz at Shizen Ramen! Newly opened nearby the foodie haven that is at Lilac, Marikina, experience your favorite Japanese cuisine with their original and authentic ramen variants conceived after an arduous journey in Japan by the owners themselves! Not wanting to eat too much (as I still needed to bike my way back home), I opted for their Chasyu Ramen. Chasyu, oh yes, those melt-in-your-mouth pork strips we all so love in our ramen. Surprisingly, theirs was pretty solid! I was surprised because you’d usually get this quality at the more expensive ramen shops. The noodles are just cooked right- not too soggy nor hard to break off. The broth and soup are creamy, and they just have the right amount of taste- not too strong so you can chow down the soup down to the last sip! And the egg, wakame and spring onion completes the dish to its intended perfection.
Been seeing Shizen Ramen for months now and was so curious as to what this ramen house offers. I was planning to dine here a few times but there’s place is always full whenever I pass by. Good thing, a few days ago, finally went here and there weren’t many customers around. Shizen Ramen is one of the newest ramen house in Marikina located at Bayan-Bayanan Avenue in Marikina Heights, Marikina City. Place isn’t hard to find though a bit tricky to look for when you’re not familiar with the place. Coming from Cubao/Katipunan/Bayan Marikina, I suggest riding a jeepney/fx with SSS/Parang Molave signage and asked to be dropped at Meralco. Just look for the gas station near Meralco and walk straight. Shizen Ramen is just 1-2 blocks away. Place is a bit small with indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to dine outside since it’s a bit hot inside. There were Japanese designs seen in the place though I think they needed more Japanese feels with the place. Here’s what we ordered: Chasyu Ramen (Php179) “4pcs Chasyu, Wakame, Spring Onion, Egg” -I was just wowed when I saw how HUGE their servings for the ramen. J Anyway, their Chasyu Ramen is very tasty (though not that creamy) as well as the pork included. The Chasyu/pork was very thick but soft and easy to chew. The noodles used were thick and it was sooooo GOOOD !! Yakuza Ramen (Php189) “Beef strip, Mushroom, Tofu, Beansprouts, Chili” -HUGE servings again. I think this was more tasty and exciting as compared to the Chasyu Ramen as it has a rich taste and the spicy flavor really adds up to its goodness. Though I think both really tastes differently good J 3pcs Gyoza (Php80) -Their gyoza were thick, huge and VERY TASTY. (As in di ka talaga tinipid kasi siksik ung flavors/lasa ng gyoza nila). But I find it disappointing that it was only 3 pcs gyoza given the price L Overall, we really had a great time dining here and the two ramen we had were REALLY GOOD. It was good, rich in flavors and that HUUUUGE servings though J They’re a bit underrated (haven’t seen a review about their restau) so I think this ramen house really deserves a shout out and recognition since they deserve such.
About a month ago, I went to Marikina with my barkada. We came across this discreet restaurant near Gil Fernando, Marikina. This ramen joint is a start-up from a student who conceptualized the business. He believed that opening a ramen restaurant would help him graduate as well as earn funds for his livelihood. He completely conceptualized the interiors and the menu of his shop; and even imported them from abroad. I must say that the interiors were pretty brand new, albeit uncleaned at the time.Initially I didn't expect much from this since it was pretty new and pretty small. However, my expectations were shattered when he showed us his incredible cooking skills and delectable ingredients. I must say that his ramen was top notch given that he was only a startup.I tried out the Yakuza ramen variant. It was a a deliciously spicy big bowl of beef ramen with black mushroom, beansprouts, tofu, and chili. It was truly satisfying to my palate since I requested it to be insanely spicy. The spicy sauce was high class; and the hot broth only made it event more palatable. The ramen was quite challenging to finish due to the spiciness, the size, and the hot broth; but eventually I succeeded in my goal. For Php 189, the ramen was ultra-cheap given the high quality of the aforementioned ingredients and the humungous serving size. I'd say that this can feed two to three people. Except that i can eat as much as 2-3 people. The excellent ramen was supplemented by a generous helping of their gyoza. The dumplings were well-cooked; and the meat was well-stocked in every niche of the wrapper. I love the fact that it blended well with the black vinegar sauce for a meaty, stocky flavor. The place may not look like much. Plus the area is quite hidden. But I urge the consuming public to give this startup a try. You will really be amazed at the place and the good food.
