Nice family-run affair. They serve simple dishes that somehow click with clientele and make it work. The Smiley and good-natured owner and his wife create a homely atmosphere that lingers after the meal.

It's a simple and down to earth place. So don't come if you're expecting a five star restaurant because it is not. But if you're after fresh food then this is for you. The waiter and owner are friendly and paid close attention to the fact that I didn't want any garlic in my food. The starter was enormous and I didn't even manage to eat the pasta dish I had ordered. Simple. Cheap. Good quality food. No frills.

Good food, well presented and very good value. The house wine was very acceptable and overall a god place to eat away from the centre of Matera.
