I was for 1 night in the nativity, ate in the restaurant. nice and friendly staff, large selection of beer, design and bottle, healthy kitchen.
This is a magical place! the scenery is stunning. the atmosphere is relaxed and soothing. eating is from this world! that is not for the faint of the heart.
This was a lovely pleasant rifugio and I would consider going back to stay for a few days. Another rifugio nearby is the usual stop at stage 2 of the alta via but a little research led us here and I think we chose well....The staff were very welcoming and you felt the family atmosphere. The food was very impressive. We couldn't believe the standard of food generally so high up in the mountains. Seeing marmots from the terrace was a bonus.
We were directed here by our B&B (Villa La Bercia also excellent), but you could get here through the Michelin app. Both recommendations are justified. The food is largely sourced locally (some of it even from the garden behind the restaurant, and the recipes...rely heavily on traditional dishes. The proprietress greeted us and gave us individual recommendations. The servers were a little harried, but the young man who waited on us couldn't have been better. He was very patient with us and was very attentive, but not intrusive. Because it's a local place, expect families, possibly including noisy babies, but that just adds to the ambiance. This was a memorable meal.
