We tried the all-you-can-eat cod fish and chips for $14.99, which is only slightly more expensive than the two-piece option at $12.95. The batter is thin and crispy, unlike the heavy coatings at other places, and the fish pieces are large. I had three pieces with coleslaw instead of fries and felt very full. It wasn't too greasy, which was a nice surprise.
I have been coming to this restaurant in Maple Ridge for a long time, but my last two visits were disappointing. The chips were stale, but the fish was good. I suspect the old oil used to fry the chips was the issue. When I brought this up to the waitress, she spoke with the manager who also happens to be the cook. He refused to make any adjustments to my bill and even told me not to come back. It was a disappointing experience after being a loyal customer for so long. I recommend avoiding the fish and chips at this location in Maple Ridge. The Austin Road location, on the other hand, is much better and run by genuine people. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and best of luck to you.
Fish and chips are large portion sizes and as an additional bonus is there tarter sauce amazing I will even go and order only the tart sauce when I need it at home!
I recently visited Austin for the first time since I was a child and had lunch with my family at a restaurant. The meal was delicious, especially the perfectly cooked fish served with a light and tasty dough. The service was excellent as well, with our attentive server - who we suspect may have been the owner - providing toys and a high chair for our son. We will definitely be returning to Austin.
Worst fish and chips I've ever had. Should be frozen in the grocery store! Fish was small. I ordered a threesome to snap out and when I came home, there were only 2 pieces. Two pieces soggy over baked fish.
